You need up to three test coins. All are free and have no value.

Test XLM

Skip this if you signed in with Google, GitHub or email: your account already has XLM. Use any one of these:
  • In Freighter: with Freighter on Testnet, select Fund with Friendbot on the empty account. See Set up Freighter.
  • In the Writz app: when your connected account has no XLM, the app shows Account not funded. Select Fund with Friendbot.
  • In Stellar Lab: open lab.stellar.org/account/fund, make sure the network at the top is Testnet, paste your Stellar address and request funds.
Friendbot sends 10,000 test XLM. You need only a few.

Test BTC on Bitcoin signet

The smallest deposit Writz accepts on testnet is 0.00005 BTC (5,000 sats), plus a Bitcoin network fee of a few hundred sats. One faucet payout of 10,000 sats covers it.
1

Copy your Xverse payment address

Connect Xverse in the app and select Copy address under Bitcoin wallet in the Wallets panel, or copy the payment address from Xverse itself. See Set up Xverse.
2

Request coins from a faucet

Use one of the faucets the app links to under Testnet faucets in the Wallets panel:
  • bitcoinsignetfaucet.com: paste the address in Signet address, enter an Amount (sats) from 1,000 to 10,000 (10,000 is best for Writz), and select Request test sats. Up to five requests per address in 24 hours.
  • signet.dcorral.com: sends 0.0001 BTC (10,000 sats) per request. Paste the address in the Enter your Signet address field, complete the human check and select Get Signet BTC.
3

Wait for it to arrive

Faucets send in batches. The coins usually show up in Xverse within a few minutes as unconfirmed, and confirm with the next signet block. Writz shows the balance it sees in the Wallets panel.
A faucet may be empty or paused for a while. If one fails, try the other one. Faucets are run by third parties, not by Writz.

Test USDC on Stellar testnet

Writz uses Circle’s testnet USDC on Stellar, issued by GBBD47IF6LWK7P7MDEVSCWR7DPUWV3NY3DTQEVFL4NAT4AQH3ZLLFLA5.
The Wallets panel also links to Blend test USDC. That is a different token and does not work for borrowing, repaying or lending. Use Circle’s faucet below.
1

Add USDC to your Stellar account

A Stellar account must opt in to a token before it can receive it (this is called a trustline). The easiest way is in the app: open Lend, and if your account can’t hold USDC yet, select Add USDC and confirm in your wallet. Your wallet sets aside 0.5 XLM for it.Signed in with Google, GitHub or email? USDC is already added. The Wallets panel shows USDC added: Yes.
2

Open Circle's faucet

Go to faucet.circle.com. Select USDC, open the Network menu and choose Stellar Testnet.
3

Send to your Stellar address

Paste your Stellar address in Send to and select Send 20 USDC.

Circle allows one request per asset and network every 2 hours. If the request fails, check that USDC is added to your account first: Stellar rejects a payment to an account without the trustline. You can also get test USDC by borrowing it against test BTC. Last checked on 2026-10-25.
