# Connect your wallets

> Connect a Stellar wallet and Xverse to the Writz app, and read what the Wallets panel tells you.

The app uses two wallets, one per network:

* **Stellar wallet**: receives the USDC you borrow and signs loan actions. Freighter, xBull, Lobstr and other Stellar wallets work, or [sign in with Google, GitHub or email](https://docs.writz.xyz/guides/sign-in-with-email.md).
* **Bitcoin wallet**: Xverse. It holds the BTC you lock. Only needed to borrow.

Writz never sees your keys. Every action opens your wallet and waits for you to confirm.

## Connect

**1. Open the Wallets panel**

Go to [testnet.writz.xyz](https://testnet.writz.xyz) and select **Connect wallets** at the top right.

The Wallets panel. Stellar first, then Bitcoin.

**2. Connect your Stellar wallet**

Select **Connect Stellar wallet**. A list of Stellar wallets opens: choose Freighter, or the wallet you use. The button reads **Confirm in your wallet** until you approve the connection in the wallet's own window (in Freighter, select **Connect**).

**3. Connect Xverse**

Select **Connect Xverse** and approve in Xverse. Xverse must be on **Signet**, see [Set up Xverse](https://docs.writz.xyz/guides/set-up-xverse.md#2-switch-to-signet).

## What the panel shows

![Wallets panel with a Stellar address, USDC added Yes, a Bitcoin address and its balance](https://mintcdn.com/writz-protocol/AtDBkTL5W_JkQblu/images/guides/wallets-connected.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=AtDBkTL5W_JkQblu\&q=85\&s=d9e4116568eed8b5458c68fcdb6a5a37)

Both wallets connected. Example addresses and balance.

| Line | Meaning |
| - | - |
| Stellar address | The account that receives USDC and signs. **View on Stellar Expert** opens it in the explorer. |
| **USDC added** | **Yes** when your account can hold USDC. **Not yet** means you need to [add USDC](https://docs.writz.xyz/guides/get-test-funds.md#test-usdc-on-stellar-testnet) before you can receive it. |
| Bitcoin address and **Balance** | The Xverse payment address and the signet BTC Writz sees in it. **View on mempool** opens it in the explorer. |
| **Your loans** | How many loans Writz found on Stellar for this Stellar wallet. They load on any device where you connect the same wallet. |
| **Testnet faucets** | Links to the signet BTC faucets and Friendbot. See [Get test funds](https://docs.writz.xyz/guides/get-test-funds.md). |

The panel also warns you when something needs fixing:

* **Wrong network**: your Stellar wallet is not on testnet. Switch it to **Testnet**.
* **Account not funded**: the account has no XLM yet. Select **Fund with Friendbot**.
* **Low XLM**: fewer than 2 XLM left. Fund it again so you can keep paying fees.

## Disconnect

Select **Disconnect** under either wallet. If a transaction is still running, the app asks first; the transaction keeps going on chain either way.

*Last checked against the app on 2026-10-25.*
