# Channels

> How Writz reaches borrowers, lenders and builders: what each channel is for, the next step it asks of people, and when we stop it.

A channel counts only if we can say who it reaches, what we tell them, what they do next and when we would stop. Posting more is not a strategy. We run a small number of channels at a time and add another only when one is working or has been stopped.

## In use now

These channels serve the [three fronts](https://docs.writz.xyz/go-to-market/step-by-step.md) directly.

| Channel | Who it reaches | Next step we ask for | When we stop |
| - | - | - | - |
| **Direct conversations and guided sessions** | Bitcoin holders and USDC users, through people we know and communities we belong to | Take an interview, or try a full testnet loan with us | When new conversations stop teaching us anything |
| **Direct institutional outreach** | Treasuries, funds, custodians, and the public bodies behind sovereign and state reserves | A technical evaluation, then a testnet pilot | When a type of institution cannot use Writz without a custodian or wrapping |
| **Developer programs** (SDK, hackathons, bounties, [ideas page](https://docs.writz.xyz/developers/request-for-startups.md)) | Stellar builders, starting in Latin America | Build something real on the tools, and keep it running | When projects stop as soon as the prize ends |
| **Founder-led writing** (technical posts, the whitepaper, Bitcoin and Stellar forums) | Researchers, builders and technical Bitcoin readers | Read the design, challenge it, try the tools | When it brings no one into the conversations above |

## Next, as the plan advances

| Channel | Who it reaches | Next step we ask for | When it starts |
| - | - | - | - |
| **Stellar community** | USDC holders and teams on Stellar | Supply test USDC, or discuss supplying at launch | With [Step 7](https://docs.writz.xyz/go-to-market/step-by-step.md#step-7-build-the-lender-side) |
| **Bitcoin self-custody communities** (meetups, podcasts, regional groups) | Long-term holders who keep their own keys | Join a guided session, or the early list | Now for interviews and guided sessions, open invitations after [Step 3](https://docs.writz.xyz/go-to-market/step-by-step.md#step-3-make-the-first-loan-easy-to-try) |
| **Product partners** | Users of Stellar apps that want Bitcoin-backed credit or yield on USDC | Partner: integrate. Their users: try the feature | When a partner sees value in testing the tools |
| **Wallets and hardware signers** | People holding Bitcoin or USDC in those wallets | Open Writz from the wallet they already use | Integration on testnet, public names [after launch](https://docs.writz.xyz/go-to-market/step-by-step.md#step-10-grow-through-partners-then-raise-limits) |

## What we are not doing

| We are not | Why |
| - | - |
| Buying reach, or paying for promotion | People who arrive this way are not the ones who need a loan, and trust cannot be rented |
| Running every social platform | Attention is limited, and we would rather do a few things well |
| Reporting followers as progress | A follower has not changed what they do. We measure the [next step](https://docs.writz.xyz/go-to-market/measuring-progress.md) |
| Sending people into a flow that is not ready | A person who gets stuck rarely returns |
| Announcing partnerships we do not have | Interest or a letter of intent is not a partnership, and we only name partners with their agreement |

## Why one channel does not fit all

Each channel plays a different part in the same journey.

* **Writing and developer programs** build credibility, and they reach builders first. They rarely reach someone who will borrow next month.
* **Direct conversations** are slow, and they teach us the most.
* **Institutional outreach** is slow and has few but heavy outcomes.
* **Communities and partners** bring the people who would actually use a loan, and they only work once the product and its message are ready.

That is why the order matters. Sending people to a product before it is ready spends the one thing a new protocol cannot buy back, which is a first impression.
